Qatar Chamber’s First Vice Chairman, Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari, recently held a meeting with Nguyen Huy Hiep, Vietnam’s Ambassador to Qatar, to discuss bolstering economic and trade ties between the two nations. The discussions took place at the chamber’s headquarters in Lusail, with a focus on enhancing cooperation between Qatari and Vietnamese private sector enterprises.
The dialogue centered on exploring new investment opportunities and identifying key sectors for potential collaboration. Al Kuwari expressed Qatar Chamber’s commitment to fostering stronger partnerships and joint investment ventures between businesses from both countries. He commended Vietnam’s robust economic growth as a promising factor in strengthening bilateral relations.
Ambassador Hiep underscored Vietnam’s eagerness to deepen economic cooperation with Qatar, highlighting that bilateral trade surpassed $860 million in 2024, which was an increase of $100 million from the previous year. He urged Qatari investors to explore opportunities in Vietnam, particularly in sectors such as agriculture, food processing, and halal products. The ambassador also pointed out the significant role of Qatar Chamber in promoting Vietnamese agricultural and halal goods within the Qatari market.
To further mutual trade interests, the ambassador extended an invitation to Qatar Chamber and Qatari business leaders to participate in the Vietnam International Sourcing Expo 2026. This event, scheduled for next September in Ho Chi Minh City, is a major global trade exhibition that focuses on sourcing, exports, and supply chain cooperation. It attracts international companies and industry leaders from various sectors, including food and beverages, textiles, furniture, consumer goods, agriculture, and logistics.
