Qatar is actively working to bolster its economic ties with the United States, focusing on expanding cooperation across trade, investment, energy, technology, and infrastructure sectors. This initiative was underscored by Dr. Ahmad bin Mohammed Al Sayed, Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs, during a forum held in Washington, DC.
Dr. Al Sayed highlighted Qatar’s strategic intent to develop long-term partnerships and joint ventures with the U.S., aiming to diversify beyond traditional trade relationships. He emphasized the importance of enhancing supply-chain resilience by diversifying suppliers, markets, and trade routes.
In his visit to the U.S. capital, Al Sayed engaged in discussions with senior U.S. officials and business leaders. These meetings were aimed at identifying new avenues for increasing bilateral trade and investment, as well as exploring cooperation opportunities in sectors deemed a priority by both nations.
The conversations also focused on strengthening the collaboration between Qatari and American businesses and supporting partnerships across public and private sectors. This approach is seen as crucial for deepening economic links between Qatar and the broader global markets, particularly in the Gulf region.
