Qatar has expressed deep regret over the damage sustained by its embassy building in Ukraine following shelling in the capital city of Kyiv. The Qatari government confirmed that no diplomats or embassy staff were injured in the incident.
In an official statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the need to protect embassies, diplomatic missions, international organizations and civilian facilities during conflicts, in accordance with international law. The ministry stressed that such sites and their personnel must be spared from the consequences of ongoing crises.
Qatar reiterated its firm stance in favor of resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict through peaceful means, guided by the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter. The statement also reaffirmed Qatar’s support for international efforts aimed at de-escalation and reducing tensions.
