Qatar has reiterated its firm commitment to supporting the Palestinian people until they achieve all their legitimate rights, including self-determination, an end to the occupation, and the establishment of an independent and sovereign state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
In a statement delivered before the UN General Assembly, Qatar emphasized its continued backing of international efforts aimed at advancing the two-state solution. The country highlighted progress made during recent global meetings, including the New York Declaration, which reaffirmed widespread international support for a peaceful and just resolution to the Palestinian cause.
Qatar also underscored its ongoing diplomatic efforts with the United States, Egypt, and Turkiye, which contributed to reaching a ceasefire agreement in Gaza. It stressed the importance of implementing UN Security Council Resolution 2803 to secure a sustainable ceasefire, ensure unrestricted humanitarian aid, rebuild Gaza, and prevent any forced displacement of Palestinians.
Condemning recent military escalations in Gaza, Syria, and Lebanon, Qatar called these actions violations of international law and threats to regional stability. The country urged the UN to address the funding crisis faced by UNRWA and reaffirmed the refugees’ right of return in accordance with international resolutions.
Qatar concluded by expressing its full support for the upcoming international conference on Gaza reconstruction, aiming to improve living conditions and strengthen long-term stability for the Palestinian people.
