US President Donald Trump has commended Qatar’s pivotal role in mediating peace efforts to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip, expressing optimism that the current ceasefire will remain stable.
In remarks to the media, the President confirmed that the war in Gaza has effectively come to an end, with multiple guarantees in place to maintain the truce. He also mentioned that Hamas might release several prisoners ahead of the agreed timeline outlined in its deal with Israel.
Trump noted that a new administration in Gaza is expected to begin operations soon, emphasizing his intention to visit the region personally. The move, he said, would symbolize support for lasting peace and reconstruction efforts.
The US President is also set to co-chair the Sharm El Sheikh Peace Summit in Egypt on Monday, an event focused on consolidating the ceasefire and advancing broader peace and stability across the Middle East.
