Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is making a strategic move by inviting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the G7 summit, opting for engagement despite significant diplomatic tensions surrounding the Hardeep Singh Nijjar murder investigation. However, critics like the World Sikh Organization argue that this strategic approach compromises Canadian values and sets a troubling precedent for how Canada handles foreign interference.
