In the ongoing discussions, Iran has advocated for increased control over the shipping lanes within the Strait of Hormuz, suggesting the implementation of transit tolls and the regulation of maritime traffic through designated routes. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized that Washington would not allow Iran to dictate commercial shipping access through the strait.
