Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, engaged in several diplomatic conversations on Monday, focusing on strengthening regional stability and bilateral relations. Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif, was among those who called Sheikh Mohammed. Their discussion centered on bolstering ties and evaluating Pakistan’s mediation efforts to de-escalate regional tensions, particularly those involving the United States and Iran.
Sheikh Mohammed expressed Qatar’s appreciation for Pakistan’s efforts, along with other involved parties, in facilitating a ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran. He reiterated Qatar’s full support for these mediation efforts, emphasizing the importance of peaceful resolutions and dialogue to achieve a comprehensive agreement that ensures lasting peace in the region.
In another call, Sheikh Mohammed spoke with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud. They reviewed the progress of their bilateral relationship and discussed the regional situation, particularly the ceasefire efforts between the United States and Iran. Qatar’s Prime Minister condemned the recent drone attack on Saudi Arabia and assured Qatar’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia, supporting all measures to safeguard its citizens and maintain its sovereignty and security.
The conversations highlighted the necessity for all parties to engage in ongoing mediation efforts to address the underlying issues through peaceful dialogue. This approach aims to prevent further escalation and foster a sustainable agreement for regional stability.
Additionally, Sheikh Mohammed received a call from Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates, Dr. Badr Abdelatty. Their discussion also revolved around enhancing bilateral ties and considering developments related to the U.S.-Iran ceasefire. Sheikh Mohammed emphasized the importance of a positive response from all parties to the mediation efforts, which are crucial for addressing the crisis’s root causes and achieving a lasting peace.
